Was in town and this little hole in the wall seemed like the only place open. Opted for a slice of Sicilian and glad I found this place.
A wonderful garlic and sausage pizza that is not greasy but extremely tasty!
Been ordering Franco's pizzas for 40 years and never disappointed. His soups are great too. Wish he had Menu on his website so we can order in advance.
Yes good. I buy. I eat. I like. Wow pizza. Such Italy. Food wow good
Good pizza overall
This place has lots of variety in the menu, good pizza, and is the "go to" pizza place for hopewellians when they want pizza. It's a typical small town pizzeria.
I've been a regular here for almost 9 years. Great pizza and sandwiches, and the prices are more than reasonable.
Delicious Pizza !!!
This has always been the classic pizza of Hopewell.
Franco's Pizza Shop
This is a great neighborhood pizza place - has been in business for a very long time and their customers are always first. They're friendly and efficient.
FRANCO'S IS NUMBER ONE
Franco's, previously known as Vicenzos, has been in Hopewell forever... or at least since I first came here in 1974. I can honestly say I have been to all the pizza joints within a 25 mile radius of Hopewell and know what each is best for.
3 1/2 stars
- awesome service
- great pizza
- clean home-style environment
- great for a quick bite
Great small town pizza shop. Franco is friendly and makes a good pizza. We get take out nearly once a week and always enjoy the pizza.
Franco's is great! Fast service, orders are ALWAYS correct and on-time, and Franco is a great guy. This place is a local institution and I hope it's here for a long time.
Franco makes the best Hot Grinders and Sausage Pepper Hot Subs around. Very friendly and customer oriented. Fast service with a smile. Will recommend to all my friends. Franco is the best. Hopewell is lucky to have this gentleman as a business owner and the best pizza place in Somerset County.
I have been going here since i was about 2 years old, and this place rules! Formally called Vincenzo's Pizzeria, this place has been a Hopewell must for years. My family eats here about twice a week. NOTHING is bad here. Franco, the owner, makes the best sicilian pizza I have ever had, and I make it a point to try sicilian pies at other pizza joints. There's not much in the way of gourmet pizza offered here, but they get the basic pie better than the rest. The lack of gourmet pies doesn't matter as Franco will be happy to make whatever you want as long as he's got the ingredients- I suggest a pizza with chicken and nuclear sauce (one of their wing sauces... they serve Cluck-U wings too).
The subs/hoagies here are fantastic. My favorites are their chicken salad hoagie and their chicken parm sub. The chicken salad is like no other chicken salad you've had- they lightly bread and season large pieces of chicken and cook them when you order. They then stir them in a little mayo and serve it to you HOT! It totally rules and blows other chicken salads out of the water. To make it even better, the oil and vinegar on it too!
Bottom line: the food is great, and the price is more than right!
I have been going here for many years for takeout pizza and subs. This is your basic local Jersey pizzeria, good Italian food that is value priced. The pizza is thin crust with plenty of cheese and the Italian subs are stuffed and tasty. The service is friendly and prompt.
Very reasonably priced pizza and sandwiches. Wings were surprisingly good too. We're lucky to have this as our goto place in town. Crust is not as doughy as the Pennington places and the sauce is a little sweeter. Decor probably hasn't been updated in twenty years (and is the building built over a stream?) - but I wouldn't change a thing. Best pizza suggestion I was given - and I'll pass along here - light on the cheese and garlic. #MercerGoLocal
This review is long overdue. While visiting NJ last year, I accidentally ran into this place and gave it a try. Excellent old school east coast pizza. Got two plain slices and a soda. It was so good, and even though it was plenty to eat, I just had to order another slice. Over the few months I was home I ordered a few pies for pickup and a couple chicken parmesan subs. All were excellent every time. I didn't get a chance to order a cold sub!! The location is off the main street. The place is old school, clean inside. The owner is so cordial. Treats everyone like he's known them forever. I'm told that if you want something that's not on the menu, he'll do his best to accommodate you if he's got the ingredients. He's flexible and if it kb makes sense he does his best to do it. I've been to pizza joints that don't know how to run a business and essentially lose good regular customers. Noticed a special recently at a different pizza joint advertising two large two topping pizzas for a great price. Asked if I could put all the toppings on one and get the other plain. No go. Dude tells me they can't make substitutions. WTF is the difference? 2x2=4 right? Who gives a rat's ass how they're distributed? 4 on 1, 3 on 1, 1 on the other, or 2 on two. It still $#&%Ing equals 4. Heck you could even throw the toppings out onto the street, it's still 4. Could not make this clown understand simple math and customer service. Ok fine, hung up the phone. They lost over 20 bucks and my patronage forever. But Franco's pizza rocks.
This place is great, I love Franco's! Very good Jersey pie. I live more North and don't hesitate to travel for a good pie. There is nothing like it by me. I wish I lived closer! The pan pizza is the best!
I have been going here since I was a little kid. The inside has been updated within the last 20 years...but not much. The floor and the tables are all the same. I love how it it is built over a stream. Franco is an awesome dude!. The only thing that I do not like here is the cheese steak hoagie (imagine a cheese steak with lettuce, tomatoes, uncooked onions etc.). Just my personal taste though. I've never gotten a bad pizza here and whenever I'm back in town this is where I go.
Perfect authentic pizza with the personal touch. Old school, no gimmicks, just good food and friendly, neighborhood proprietor. Eat in, watch the game, take it home hot out of the oven. Can't miss for real New Jersey pizza.
Love this place! Been eating there since I was 5 and still love it for a good slice of pizza every once and a while. I recommend the cheese stake with heigh honors! The pizza is just the way you want it to be and I have never had a seating problem. The food comes fast and they bring it out the second it's done. If you are every in town check it out!
Been going here for over 25 years, A terrific bargain. Best pizza, my favorite is the sausage with ground-up sausage rather than sliced; less oily/greasy. THE VEAL parm is REAL veal, not patty!!!
Friendly service, reasonable prices the pizza tastes delicious and a much better value than Nomad pizza. Thanks Franco! AK
